Gotland, the Baltic and Sweden's largest island with an area of of 1,860 square miles. Over a third of the islands 57,200 residents live in Visby. It is the best-preserved medieval city in Scandinavia and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Among the most notable historical remains are the two miles of Ring Wall called Ringmuren that circle the city, built in the 1300's and the Cathedral of St. Mary, dating back to 1225.

Visby has been inhabited since the Stone Age and Gotland's fairy-tale-like characteristics, colorful atmosphere and gentle climate make for a unique and unexpected hidden treasure - a photographer's paradise.
