The Salisbury and Peninsula Hotels in Kowloon, Hong Kong

Two Recommended Hotels in Hong Kong

Photos, first row.   The lobby of the world famous “The Peninsula - Hong Kong” hailed as one of the finest hotels in the world, the “Grande Dame of the Far East.”   It is located on Salisbury Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong, directly across the street from the most beautiful YMCA of the world: “The Salisbury,” also located on Salisbury Road.   They both overlook Victoria Harbor.

Photos, second row.   A series of photos of “The Salisbury ” YMCA Hotel, the gray building located in the middle of each photo.

Photos, third row.   The lobby of “The Salisbury” YMCA Hotel.   The accommodations are extremely inexpensive, spacious, clean and well appointed with the same view of Victoria Harbor, at a fraction of the cost.   This hotel is the best kept secret in the travel industry!   The hotel has a wonderful, popular, (extremely reasonable), restaurant with a magnificent view.

Both The Peninsula and Salisbury hotels are a ten minute walk to the Passenger Cruise Ship - Ocean Terminal where our ship, The Yachts of Seabourn m/s “Seabourn Pride” will be docked.  Both hotels have Victoria Harbor views where you can see and hear on FM radio -- every night at 8:00PM -- “A Symphony of Lights” the worlds “Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show” according to the Guinness World Record.

In just a few weeks, I will begin booking rooms for you in our two hotels.

It is my recommendation that you fly to Hong Kong next New Year's Eve, December 31, 2011 so you will arrive in Hong Kong on January 1, 2012. That will give you three days to enjoy Hong Kong.   As in the past, I will have two days of organized, optional tours and activities, not least of which will be an opportunity to buy fine quality eye glasses at unbelievably low prices in Hong Kong; the eyeglass capital of the world, and if you wish to have hand-tailored suites, dresses et cetera, made to order, they will be ready by the time we sail!

If you wish to use your frequent flyer miles, you will be able to request your outbound flight to Hong Kong and return flight from Bangkok at midnight on February 20, 2011.
