A Barrel of (Vervet) Monkeys


Vervet Monkey (Cercopithe pygerythus). It's inquisitive, agile and primitive - with a pale grey coat and lives in troops of up to 20, comprising adult females and feeds on a variety of fruits, flowers, and insects.  Although they spend a good deal of time on the ground, they retreat to trees, where they sleep.  They are very adept at raiding lodges and love bread, sugar and artificial sweetener.   Their predators are eagles and leopards.
