TAWANTINSUYU (the four parts of the world) ~ THE INCA EMPIRE

The ancient Qorikancha in the Pre-Columbian times was the main temple of Cusco, the capital city of the Incas.   The Inca Empire, (1438-1532), was the largest state of the New World before the European conquest.   It occupied the major part of modern Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador as well as the north of Chile and the northwest of Argentina with a population of over 9 million inhabitants.

The Incas we’re talented warriors, politicians and architects, known for their sophisticated technologies in ceramics, metallurgy, textiles, architecture and engineering. Many fortresses, roads and bridges still stand today.
