Memory of Elephants

African Elephant (Loxodonta Africana).   This huge, unmistakable herbivore is found in woodlands and succulent thickets and thrive on leaves, bark and grass for over 14-hours a day.   They can weigh 3 tons with the males being larger and have thicker tusks than the females.   Matriarchs lead family units while the males keep to themselves in smaller 'bachelor' groups.   The gestation for a single calf is 22 months!

A group of elephants is a: herd or a memory of elephants.
