Tom Taffel's (1972) Paintings ~ The Interaction of Color"

The nine 10"x14" oil paintings were painted in 1972 while in the United States Army’s Letterman General Hospital, San Francisco, California - while in traction. Having studied Josef Alber’s, ($300), revolutionary book: “The Inter-action of Color,” at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1969, I experimented with over-
lapping colors and vibrating boundaries. The hospital staff was as intrigued by the uncommon smell of turpentine, as they were by my hospital room gallery.
